INDIANAPOLIS — Isaiah Bond, the standout wide receiver from the University of Texas, has set his sights on making history at the NFL scouting combine. Bond has boldly predicted that he will break the record for the fastest 40-yard dash, currently held by his fellow Longhorn, Xavier Worthy.

Last year, Worthy stunned the football world with a blistering 4.21-second 40-yard dash, a feat that helped him secure a first-round selection by the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, Bond, who transferred to Texas after starting his college career at Alabama, is ready to chase glory.

"I'm going to break the record tomorrow, for sure," Bond declared on Friday. "I anticipate running 4.20 or possibly, if I'm feeling great, I might run a 4.1."

Bond’s confidence isn’t unfounded. During his training leading up to the combine, he clocked an impressive 4.23 seconds — just shy of Worthy’s record. "I've been running my whole life," he said. "I've been one of the fastest my whole life, so I'm going to go out there, and when practice meets preparation, greatness is achieved. So I'm just going to trust my training and put on a show."

Bond’s speed has been a game-changer on the field. Last season, he was clocked at over 22 mph in a victory against UTSA, finishing the year with 34 catches for 540 yards and five touchdowns. Currently ranked as the No. 10 wide receiver in Mel Kiper Jr.'s draft rankings, Bond is poised to make a significant impact at the next level.

But Bond isn’t the only one eyeing Worthy’s record. Oregon’s Tez Johnson has also thrown his hat into the ring. "If you blink," Johnson warned, "you just might miss me."
