Angel Reese Shines in 'A House of Dynamite': WNBA Star's Big Screen Debut at Venice Film Festival
WNBA star Angel Reese makes her film debut in 'A House of Dynamite,' sharing the screen with Idris Elba at the Venice Film Festival.

From dominating the basketball court to gracing the silver screen, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has added another impressive achievement to her career. Reese recently made her big screen debut in the thriller 'A House of Dynamite', directed by Kathryn Bigelow, at the prestigious Venice Film Festival.
Reese’s cameo in the film features her alongside Hollywood heavyweights Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, and Anthony Ramos. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reese’s scene unfolds after Elba’s character, the President of the United States, is briefed at the White House. The next item on his agenda? An "Angel Reese thing."
In the film, Reese, accompanied by a group of young girls, awaits the president on a basketball court. The scene culminates in a heartfelt moment where Elba’s character reflects on how sports shaped his life, only to be interrupted by a developing crisis. The film received an 11-minute standing ovation after its screening at the Sala Grande theater, a testament to its impact.
Reese’s foray into acting isn’t the only crossover between sports and film at this year’s festival. DK Metcalf, wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, also appeared in the thriller 'Asteroid', alongside Hailee Steinfeld, who is married to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
A House of Dynamite is set to premiere in select theaters in the United Kingdom on October 3, followed by an international release on October 10, and will be available on Netflix starting October 24.
Reese’s appearance in the film not only highlights her versatility but also underscores the growing intersection of sports and entertainment. As she continues to excel in the WNBA, her venture into acting marks an exciting new chapter in her career.
